GSA Goes Green…
In a collaborative effort with the Office of Management and Budget, the GSA is formulating a comprehensive plan for Strategic Sustainability Performance. This will focus on the reduction of the Government facilities’ impact on using natural resources with a Zero Environmental Footprint goal. Of note is that this effort will likely result in consolidation of GSA data centers; reduced power consumption; and increasing CPU utilization through metering technologies as well as more use of Cloud computing.
As reported in earlier blogs, the GSA is emerging as a leader in commercial real estate not only in the United States but worldwide in setting environmental sustainability, Green, and LEED standards. Real estate practitioners today should keep a close look on what the GSA is doing, especially in offering intelligent brokerage services to our clients.
NAI is fortunate to provide our clients with one of the world’s leading sustainability technologies through our CLAS™ program in conjunction with ARCHIBUS. It was recently estimated that almost half of the LEED certified buildings in the United States are managed with the ARCHIBUS technology for energy management and sustainability. These features can be seamlessly integrated with NAI CLAS™ for a comprehensive lease, portfolio and property management solution at the forefront of Green building management.
