Property Valuation Protest Meetings Limited to First 6,000: JUNE 1 First Day to File
Property valuations have been sent out and if you wish to protest, you can file a protest in Nebraska beginning today, June 1st. Protests can be filed electronically at http://lancaster.ne.gov/clerk/prop.htm, by mail or in person. The Lancaster County Clerk’s Office is located at: 555 S. 10th Street, Room 108, Lincoln, NE 68508. This year, the final day to file is July 2nd.
As in the past, citizens will have an opportunity to meet with an independent appraiser to review their protest. As a result of budgetary constraints, this year there will be 6,000 appointments available for those protesting residential and agricultural values. Other property classes will have a referee review of the protest filing without a meeting. Evening and Saturday appointments will once again be offered.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the County Clerk’s Office at 402-441-8724 or visit the above web site.
