NAI FMA Associates Contribute to United Way Campaign

NAI FMA Realty and our associates are proud supporters of the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County annual campaign. Last year the campaign raised $6,739,560, surpassing their goal of $6,440,000. We had 94 percent of our associates donate to the 2012 campaign to help build a stronger community. Congratulations United Way!
Randstad Staffing to Open Lincoln Office

Market Trends – Retail Expanding

Retail – and waistlines – are expanding. Of the 41,000 planned retail openings in 2013, 42% are restaurant-related according to Chainlinks’ retail forecast. Five Guys hopes to open 500 new stores this year, with 25 other food chains announcing plans to open 100 to 200+ new locations.
Retail Center Receives NCPA Award of Merit

On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, Brandon Zaruba and Michelle Wangler, both of NAI FMA Realty, along with Denise Mundorff, President of Enterprises Companies, attended the annual Nebraska Concrete Paving Association (NCPA) and NDOR Concrete Paving Banquet to receive the 2012 Award of Merit for Concrete Pavement Construction In the Parking Lots and Misc. Category.
The Parking Lot Rehab Project At Cornhusker Center located at 27th & Cornhusker) received this year’s award. The award is based on a number of factors including, scope of construction, scheduling, on time and budget as well as any special conditions on the project that are above and beyond the norm. The engineer of record wash Chris Lane with Speece-Lewis engineers and Dobson Brothers, Inc. was the contractor.
The project which began on June 12, 2012 involved multiple phases and stages to maintain adequate parking and access to all businesses in the center. The project included 23,360 CY of concrete. The project ‘s final walkthrough was completed on October 12, 2012.

NAI FMA Realty announces that Kathy Foster has joined the firm as an Associate Broker. Foster will focus on sales and leasing opportunities for all types of commercial real estate and on tenant/buyer representation.
“We’re excited to have Kathy join our team,” said NAI FMA Realty President Drew Stange. “Kathy is a great fit for our firm, her relationships and industry tenure will positively impact our brokerage team.”
Foster has more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and has been active in all types of properties. Prior to joining NAI FMA Realty, she was vice president of the Lincoln office for Colliers International overseeing the brokerage services and customer relations. Before her tenure at Colliers, she spent eight years as the real estate investment manager for Cabela’s Venture’s Inc. where she completed more than $90 million in dispositions of excess real estate that crossed over fifteen states. She also gained experience while working at MEGA Corporation of Lincoln and ownership of Commercial Real Estate Specialties, Inc.

Tammy Walter earns ARM certification

Tammy Walter, property manager for NAI FMA Realty, has earned the ACCREDITED RESIDENTIAL MANAGER® (ARM®) certification from the Institute of Real Estate Management 
(IREM®). The ARM® certification is awarded to managers of residential real estate properties who have met the Institute’s rigorous requirements in the areas of professional education, examination and experience. ARM® Members must also abide by a rigorous Code of Professional Ethics that is strictly enforced by the Institute. The announcement was made September 20th at the Nebraska Chapter of IREM’s monthly luncheon in Omaha, Nebraska.
Walter has been with NAI FMA Realty since 2003 originally in the Brokerage division as the Administrative Assistant. In 2006 she moved into Property Management and currently manages close to 500,000 square feet of commercial properties along with overseeing four multi-family complexes and forty-five residential properties.

Michelle Wangler earns ACoM certification

Michelle Wangler, property manager for NAI FMA Realty, has earned the Accredited Commercial Manager certification from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). She is the only professional in the state of Nebraska to currently hold this certification. The ACoM certification is awarded to managers of commercial real estate properties who have met the Institute’s rigorous requirements in the areas of professional education, examination and experience. ACoM Members must also abide by a rigorous Code of Professional Ethics that is strictly enforced by the Institute.
Wangler joined the firm in 1999 and has been in her current position for seven years. Her responsibilities include managing over one million square feet of Lincoln’s premier office and retail properties and property portfolios.

Blue Ox Expanding Warehouse

Blue Ox, who is known for its towing products, are expanding their local warehousing into 40,000 square feet at 4021 N. 27th Street.
Blue Ox, headquartered in Pender, Nebraska, opened the Lincoln engineering facility in 2010 at 23rd & Fairfield to focus efforts on the design of new products and improvements to the company’s existing product line of towing products, hitches, braking systems, steering controls, carriers and fifth-wheel accessories. Blue Ox maintains its manufacturing and product support at its Pender facility.
