- George Witt Service, Inc. completed a lease renewal for 3321 N. 35th Street. Sally DeLair, NAI FMA, represented the landlord.
Market Trends – Retail Expanding

Retail – and waistlines – are expanding. Of the 41,000 planned retail openings in 2013, 42% are restaurant-related according to Chainlinks’ retail forecast. Five Guys hopes to open 500 new stores this year, with 25 other food chains announcing plans to open 100 to 200+ new locations.
Retail Center Receives NCPA Award of Merit

On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, Brandon Zaruba and Michelle Wangler, both of NAI FMA Realty, along with Denise Mundorff, President of Enterprises Companies, attended the annual Nebraska Concrete Paving Association (NCPA) and NDOR Concrete Paving Banquet to receive the 2012 Award of Merit for Concrete Pavement Construction In the Parking Lots and Misc. Category.
The Parking Lot Rehab Project At Cornhusker Center located at 27th & Cornhusker) received this year’s award. The award is based on a number of factors including, scope of construction, scheduling, on time and budget as well as any special conditions on the project that are above and beyond the norm. The engineer of record wash Chris Lane with Speece-Lewis engineers and Dobson Brothers, Inc. was the contractor.
The project which began on June 12, 2012 involved multiple phases and stages to maintain adequate parking and access to all businesses in the center. The project included 23,360 CY of concrete. The project ‘s final walkthrough was completed on October 12, 2012.
Michelle Wangler earns ACoM certification

Michelle Wangler, property manager for NAI FMA Realty, has earned the Accredited Commercial Manager certification from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). She is the only professional in the state of Nebraska to currently hold this certification. The ACoM certification is awarded to managers of commercial real estate properties who have met the Institute’s rigorous requirements in the areas of professional education, examination and experience. ACoM Members must also abide by a rigorous Code of Professional Ethics that is strictly enforced by the Institute.
Wangler joined the firm in 1999 and has been in her current position for seven years. Her responsibilities include managing over one million square feet of Lincoln’s premier office and retail properties and property portfolios.

- Firehouse Subs will open its first Lincoln location in the Larson Building at 1317 Q Street.
- Rumors have spread like wild fire again about Chick-fil-A going to SouthPointe. Those rumors were laid to rest by the General Manager of the mall who said not at this time.
- Congratulations to Dickey’s BBQ Pit who celebrated their 1st anniversary for the 27th & Cornhusker site and their Grand Opening for the downtown location! We are proud to call you a client and tenant! Sally DeLair, NAI FMA Realty, represents Dickey’s locally.
- Fuzzy’s Taco Shop opened at 15th & O Street.
- BryanLGH is entering a new chapter of their legacy with a name change to Bryan Health. Be sure to “Like” Bryan on Facebook-tons of giveaways! Plus we are proud to partner with them on their medical office buildings.
- An African grocery store is opening at 2619 Holdrege. Sally DeLair, NAI FMA, represented the grocery tenant.
- Eazy Eatz Bakery, 100% gluten free, opened at 1401 N. 56th Street.

- Fuse Coworking, Lincon’s first coworking site, is set to open above the Mill at 808 P Street. Tom Graf, NAI FMA, assisted Fuse in finding their location.
- Washoo’s Fish Tacos opened downtown next to Noodles at 14th & P Street.
- Chipotle Mexican Grill relocated back to 13th & Q Street in the newly named Roger Larsen building (f/k/a the Cataylst Project or Block 38).
- Don & Millie’s and INMOTION Auto Care are under construction near 84th & O Street just west of the former Russwood site.
- Cetak’s Gourmet Meats closed their storefront at 70th & Pioneers but will continue to sell their meats at the local Hy-Vee stores.
- The Saucy Cook located at 70th & Van Dorn will close at the end of September.

- Yogurtini has opened at 48th & O Street in the Crossroads Pavilion.
- Wahoo’s Fish Tacos is under construction next to Noodles downtown.
- Creating Captains, a foundation started by Matt Davison, opened an office at 8th & P Street in the Candy Factory building.
