Describe a personal interest:

Tom enjoys spending time with his family at their cabin on the Pere Marquette River. He especially enjoys deer hunting with his kids, daughters included.

Describe a career highlight:

The highlight of his career was when he received his Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. The CPM® designation is like receiving a master’s degree in property management. However, the important part is not the letter behind his name, but the fact that through this IREM education, he is better equipped to serve my clients.

Favorite thing about working in commercial real estate?

Tom’s favorite part of working in commercial real estate, and more particularly property management, is that every day brings on different challenges. “Yes, there are specific tasks that must be completed on a daily basis,” he explains, “but solving various problems for both my clients and the tenants of the properties I manage is especially rewarding.”

Lessons learned in the past 18 months?

Over the past 18 months, he has been continually reminded of the importance of being proactive in adapting to change rather than reacting to it.
